The Bear

I looked at him

I sized him up

He said to him
"Why don’t you run?
I see you ain’t
Got any gun."

"That/s a good idea.
Now come on feet,
Let’s up and fleet!"

And so I ran
away from there
But right behind
me was that bear.

But up ahead
I saw a tree
A great big tree
· glory me.

But the lowest branch
Was ten feet up,
I’d have to trust
My luck to jump.

And so I jumped
Into the air,
But I missed that branch
a way up there.

Now don’t you fret
And don’t you frown.
‘Cause I caught that branch
On the way back down.

That’s all there is,
There ain’t no more
Until I meet
That bear once more.
